Wrestlers come up short in regionals

The boys wrestlers travelled to Norton for the Class 3-2-1A regional tournament Saturday.
None of Lakin’s seven wrestlers qualified for state.
Adan Ornelas was the only Bronc to win his first round match. At 190 pounds, he won by fall in 1:28.
Ornelas lost his next two rounds by fall, but his win picked up four team points.
Zael Bermudez won a consolation round at 106 pounds, this by fall (4:00), picking up three team points.
Brennen Bless went 0-2 at 120 pounds. Alex Luce was 0-2 at 128. Jesse Lancaster was 0-2 at 132, as were Camden Bergkamp at 150 and Tanner Tarpley at 165.
Latin qualified three girls for the state meet in Salina this week.
