Davis wins at Scott City

Ivy Davis stood atop the awards podium Saturday at the 39th annual Scott City girls Wrestling Classic.
The senior captured the gold at 135 pounds.
After receiving a bye in her opening round, Davis won by fall over Kyle Haskins of Stafford (28 seconds) and then pinned Holcomb’s McKenzie Simon (40 seconds).
In her title match, Davis won by fall (1:15) over St. Francis’ Avery Jensen.
Davis is 20-3 this season.
Luna Vazquez placed fourth at 105 pounds, going 2-3. One of her wins was by fall (4:31) and the other by an 11-10 decision.
Sarah Peters placed fifth at 130 pounds. The junior won by fall (1:44) in her fifth-place match.
Miley Roth wrestled at 125 and Kyleigh Perez at 170.
