Granado first in Larned wrestling

The wrestling team got 2024 started with a meet in Larned Thursday.

Leading the way for the Broncs was Javion Granado. The senior placed first at 157 pounds, taking the title match in an 11-6 decision over Josef Planansky of Anthony..

Granado won all three of his first rounds, the first two by fall and the third in sudden victory.

He received a quarterfinal bye and won his semifinal match by fall.

Granado is 15-3 for the season.

Camden Bergkamp placed fourth at 150 pounds. He won two of his first three rounds and lost by fall in his third place match.

Jesse Lancaster placed fifth at 132 pounds, losing his first two rounds before winning his final three.

Timmy Johnson placed fifth at 175 pounds, going 3-2 in round robin play.

Also wrestling were Zael Bermudez (106), Brennen Bless (120), Alex Luce (126), Kade Hartman (144), Tanner Tarpley (165), Owen Ostberg (175), Adan Ornelas (190) and Eduardo Almuina (215).
