Wrestlers compete at Goodland

The boys wrestling team competed at the Holiday Classic tournament in Goodland Saturday.

Javion Granado was the Broncs’ highest placer, finishing fourth at 157 pounds. 

Granado (10-3) won all three of his regular matches by falls, including one in nine seconds and another in 34 seconds. 

He lost his two medal matches by decisions (8-4 and 4-2).

Timmy Johnson went 1-2 in his opening rounds but came back to win his two medal matches to finish ninth at 175.

Zael Bermudez finished ninth at 106. Brennen Bless finished 13th at 120. Alex Luce played 10th at 126, and Jesse Lancaster was 13th at 132.

Camden Bergkamp was eighth at 150 pounds, Tanner Tartly was eighth at 165, and Eddie Almuina was 10th at 215.

The wrestlers are scheduled to compete in Larned Jan. 4 and in Lamar Jan. 6.
