One week after winning the league tournament, the Lakin volleyball season came to an end Saturday in the substate tournament in Hoisington.
The second-seeded Broncs dropped a tight semifinal match against the No.-3 seeded Holcomb Longhorns.
Lakin won the first game against Holcomb 25-18.
Game two went the way of the ‘Horns, 25-21.
In the decisive game three, Lakin fell 25-23 to end their season.
In the first round, Lakin disposed of No.-7 Southwestern Heights 25-15, 25-21.
Holcomb fell to tournament winner Goodland 25-18, 25-16.
The Broncs finish the season 27-11.
