The track teams competed in Holcomb Friday, with the boys placing second and the girls ninth out of 14 teams.
   The boys finished with 83 points, just behind Garden City High School's 86.33.
   The girls finished with 22 points.
   Lawson Beymer placed first in the 1600-meter run, clocking a 4:43.21 to win by seven seconds.
   He placed second in the 3200 meters in 10:21.58, two seconds out of first. Edwin Garcia placed fourth (10:47.17&.
   Garcia was third in the 800 meters (2:08.70), just two seconds out of first.
   Beymer and Garcia also ran legs on the 4x800 relay, which finished second in 8:51.76. Other members included Ty Davidson and Orinn Norris.
   The 4x100 relay took first, running it in 44.56 seconds. That team was Tyler Tarpley, Brady Hendrix, Davidson and Servando Gonzalez.
   The 4x400 relay was second running in 3:37.46.
   Tarpley placed third in the 300-meter hurdles (43.42) and Curtis Beam was sixth in the 110-meter hurdles (17.47).
   Hendrix placed second in the 200-meter dash (23.56).
    Davidson placed fifth in the 400 meters (54.28).
   In field events, Hendrix placed highest, leaping 20-2.25 to finish second in the long jump.
   Aron Pinter placed fifth in the high jump (5-8), Pablo Arreola sixth in the triple jump (38-0.5), and Adrian Arreola sixth in the discus (115-3).
   For the girls, Anne Sophe Van Der Knaap placed highest, high jumping 4-8 to finish second. She was third in the triple jump (32-0.5).
   Ryan Rider finished fourth in pole vault (8-0) and fifth in triple jump (31-0.5).
   The only medalist on the track was the 4x800 relay of Josia Ortiz, Jordan Ortiz, Tiana Gonzalez and Grace Ostberg finishing fifth.
