Three qualify for state FCCLA

The high school chapter of FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America) competed in Satanta Jan. 29, which led to three students qualifying for the state competition.
Nayeli Monroy, Alondra Mendez and Izzy Ortiz qualified for the state meet in Wichita to be held April 6 and 7.

“We had to present a PowerPoint, which we chose to do about FCCLA and present to three judges,” Monroy said.
They had to present first after the group in front of them scratched, she said.
“It wasn’t so bad After we finished, we had to wait for everyone else to finish for medaling,” Monroy said.
Mendez added, “We were really nervous at first, but it was worth it at the end.”
Sponsor for the group is FACS teacher Kaci Bell.
