Mrs. Burnett's 3rd Grade News
by Tania Burnett
Wow, where has the first nine weeks gone! We have had a great beginning of the year. We have definitely been busy in 3rd Grade at Lakin Grade School. Our days are packed with tons of new things to learn. We start the day off with SFA (Success for All), followed with a few minutes of a good class novel (we have finished Roxie and the Hooligans and Ralpsh S. Mouse), then on to Saxon Math, Math Groups with Mrs. Penick, Spelling, and FINALLLY LUNCH! After lunch we have Science and Social Studies, the highly anticipated recess, Music/PE and at last our new skill of learning cursive handwriting. On top of our daily schedule we have squeezed in State Assessment Interims, MAP testing, a field trip to the Garden City Fire Department and Zoo along with plenty of other LGS activities.
New this year is the laptop cart and the ipads. Yeah! On Fridays we have been adding a rotation of technology with Mrs. Rains to learn new skills and practice with the new technology at the same time. So much fun! There are truly so many goodies out there to use to teach with in the ever changing technology world.
