LMS Mathletes

The 2009-2010 school year is off to a running start. This year in 5th and 6th grade I am wanting to create a class full of "mathletes." We have high expectations of our students in USD #215 and together as a team we can achieve our goals of high academic achievement, team work between the home and school, as well as a positive learning environment in both places.
A mathlete is a student who exercises his/her math skills in order to get stronger and stronger in math. It is my goal to not only create a school full of mathletes but also for the students to enjoy math and feel successful. I want to help them build the confidence they need to try every math problem presented to them without giving up. I am training them to give 100% in effort, attitude, responsibility, and accountability as well as how to problem solve.
If you are interested in helping me "train" these mathletes at LMS by coming into my classroom as a parent "coach," please contact me at school. Your help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
Mrs. Hill (a.k.a. Head Coach) :)
