Tech Lab - Enrichment Guidelines

You are required to do three enrichments during the course of the Rotation. Choose your enrichments carefully. Some topics may not be that easy to do. If in doubt, check with me before you start. Enrichments are due at the end of the Rotation. You may only do two of any one topic (ex. two Career Investigations or two Technical Writings). However, only one will be accepted for Enrichment and one may be used for Extra Credit. All Enrichments need to be labeled appropriately at the top of the page in order to get full credit.

Technical Writing (Drawing) - Draw (the best you can) and label (all parts) of a piece of equipment from your Module. You must have a minimum of five (5) components to a piece of equipment. There may be more, and you are to label "all" parts to get full credit.

Technical Writing - Make a numbered list of at least 10 (or more) steps you had to do to complete a task during a (one) session. These do not necessarily have to be written in complete sentence form, but have to use appropriate conventions (i.e. capital letters and end marks). Leave the general steps out. Just write down the "Technical" steps you have to do to complete the project in your Module.

Concept Summary - Write three paragraphs about what you learned throughout the module. First paragraph should be something from the beginning sessions (1-3). Second paragraph should be from something in the middle sessions (4-5). Third paragraph should be something from the ending sessions (6-7). The total should be no less than 3/4 of a page.

Career Investigations - All answers should be written in complete sentences. Don't forget that the career must match the Module you are doing at the time.

Internet Exploration - #1 4-5 sentences, #2 3-4 sentences (i.e. the more you write the more points you will get, but make sure it is meaningful to the topic).

Crossword - Make a crossword (complete with definitions) using at least 10 Module specific words. Use a piece of graph paper to make the crossword and on the back or another sheet, write the definitions.

Venn Diagram - Make a comparison of two "things" in your Module. List some characteristics of each topic and some that are alike. You may need to check with me before you do this activity.

Language Translation - Make a list of at least 10 Module specific words to translate. You may translate these words into any language you'd like. However, some words are not easily translated from English. Be selective on the Language you choose.

RCA - Preparation is a must with this Enrichment. You will have to write the questions down from the computer, the answer choices, and the answer you chose. Show your work and draw the graphs if available.

Other Enrichment questions - These are questions you may get from the computer. You must write as much of the question down in order for me to gain an understanding that your answer(s) is/are correct. All answers must be written in their lowest terms and labeled appropriately. Put a title above the question as to what it is.
