Lakin High/Middle School cross country team performed well at their first meet on Thursday, August 30 at the Sugar Hill Golf Course in Goodland. This meet is very challenging due to the hills and heat. The team got a break with the heat, but the hilly course took its toll. The runners were led by juniors Cassie Kessler and Zac Anthony, who medal with a 6th and 7th place. Other runners who showed promise was sophomores Julie Rosales and Kayson Matthews who were just out of the medal range with a 11th place finish.
In the middle school division Julian Enriquez, Logan Litton, and Max Dunlap all medal in the boys division and Diana Aparicio placed 3rd in the girls race.
Most of the runners bettered their times over last year. The next meet for the Broncs will be the Greeley County Invitational which will be held on Saturday, September 8.
