Enrichment Activities

You must complete at least three (3) enrichment activities during your current Rotation. You may take some of the enrichment work home to complete it, but all work must be completed and turned in by the time the Rotation ends. Don't rely on MEARS days to get all of it done. Start early! Each module may have different enrichment activities to do. I encourage you to try several different ones and complete your work to the best of your ability in a timely manner.

Extra Credit

You may complete one or more of the following assignments to earn extra credit points for your module. Which one you choose is up to you. There are different point values for you to choose from. The higher the points value the more effort I expect. The point values shown are the maximum points allowed. You may not receive all of the points if your work is not complete or I view the effort was not sufficient enough.

30 points - Expository writing explaining what you did during that rotation at your module. You must highlight at least 6 vocabulary words that connect your writing to the module. Reasonable conventions will be expected (paragraphing is a must). Length of your writing should be at least a page long with five (5) paragraphs (i.e. Intro, Body, Body, Body, Conclusion). You will only receive 10 points for a rough draft. Visible corrections must be shown on the rough draft before you start your final draft.  You will receive an additional 20 points when you complete a final draft in ink or typed.  A rough draft must be shown to me before you begin your final draft.

25 points - Create a Flip Chart of you Module.  Use two sheets of paper to make four sections of the chart.  Title must be on the front cover.  Choose three Module specific areas that describes what you did in the Module.  Leave at least 1" at the bottom of each page to write the title.

20 points - Create a Flow Map of the activities you had to do to complete a project in your Module.  Use appropriate vocabulary that will show your knowledge of the Module you completed.  Below each picture, you need to write a brief description of what is going on.  Descriptions must be in complete sentences.  Use arrows to move the reader form one activity to the next.

20 points - Create a Module Poster.  See me for criteria.

15 points - Concept Summary - Write three paragraph about what you learned throughout the Module.  First paragraph should be something your learned from the beginning sessions (1-3).  Second paragraph should deal with the middle sessions (4-5). The third paragraph should be deal with the ending sessions (6-7).  The total should be no less than 3/4 of a page.

10 points - Show your work for at least four (3) RCA questions. Your RCA questions for Sessions 2-5 will have to be written out and your work shown on how you solved the problems. If it is a Math problem, write out the problem and the steps you took to solve it. If it is a graph, draw the graph, identify the coordinates, and write 1-2 sentences about what the graph is showing.

5 points - Career Investigation and Internet Exploration worksheets. You can only do two per Rotation. One may be used for an enrichment and the other for extra credit. So, choose them carefully.  Also, you may do only two Language Translations.  Plus, they must match your Module you are in at the time.
