Just a little about me. . .
I was born in Goodland, KS and attended school in Abilene, KS and then Brewster, KS. I graduated from Brewster in 1999 (In a class of 16!) and went to college at Fort Hays State University. For two years, I majored in Chemistry and Biology…my dream was to become a Forensic Scientist! After realizing that I would spend the rest of my life in college, I turned to my next (and best) dream – becoming a teacher! I graduated with a B.S. in Elementary Education in December 2003. I began by teaching 5th grade at Sacred Heart Catholic School in Colby, KS from January 2005 to May 2005. I started teaching at Lakin Middle School in August of 2005 and continue to teach 5th and 6th grade Reading.
My family is very important in my life! I have one younger brother and one older brother, but no sisters. I have one nephew, Kade, who is 6 years old and now in Kindergarten! My parents live in Brewster and operate a farm. They are also the owners and operators of a very unique Bed & Breakfast in an original sod house that has been in our family since 1908! I will be getting married this year in March in Las Vegas, in the same chapel my grandparents were married in 1948! I will return to school as Mrs. Proehl!
Some of my hobbies include singing, playing piano, watching movies, and (of course) READING! I once was the lead female singer and keyboardist in a Christian band called Full Pardon! I love cats, fish, and I collect angels! In high school I was chosen to travel to England with the Lion’s Club International Marching Band. I played cymbals in the drum line! While in England, I visited William Shakespeare’s birthplace, Stratford-Upon-Avon…an unforgettable experience for a Shakespeare fan!
