Cross Country Performs Well at First Meet

by Ron Overeem

September 05, 2006

The High/Middle School Cross Country Team got off to a good start at the Goodland Invitational on Thursday (Sept. 31).  This meet is usually a difficult meet due to the challenging course and hot temperatures.  Most of the runners improved on their times from last year.  We are looking forward to the rest of the season based on the results we saw at this meet.  Results of the meet are as follows:  Cassie Kessler (4th) and Brittany Root (8th) led the Freshmen-Sophomore Girls.  Zac Anthony (3rd) and Kellum Schneider (5th) placed in the Freshmen-Sophomore Boys division.  Katie Simmons (7th) and Kamen Schneider (6th) led the Junior-Senior division.  In the middle school division, Kennedy Schneider won the Middle School Girls division with teammates Sarah Leach (6th) and Kasarah Woodrow (7th) also winning medals.  Overall, The boys took 4th place while the girls also took 4th place in the team competition.
