Lakin USD #215 Board of Education appreciates and welcomes patrons taking time to talk to the board about our policies and procedures.  Public comments should be directed towards board policies or the procedures in which they are carried out. Public comment is not the appropriate time or place for patrons to make comments of a personal nature about any district employee or student as it violates privacy/confidentiality rights of individuals.

Starting July 1, patrons who wish to speak at a board of education meeting must complete a Request to Speak form and submit it to the board of education office at least three (3) business days prior to the board meeting at which they would like to speak.

Patrons with concerns should follow the Chain of Communication to have their concern resolved at the lowest level possible. If a patron has not received satisfactory adjustment of an issue, they should follow the procedures and policies required to speak at a board meeting.

Once again, if any patron or stakeholder wishes to speak to the board of education during the public comment section, they must complete and submit the Request to Speak form to the district office at least three (3) business days prior to the board meeting at which they would like to speak.

For a copy of the complete policy, the Request to Speak form or questions, please contact the district office.
