Music competes at league

The Lakin band and vocal group traveled to Sublette last Wednesday to perform for league with soloists and small groups.
All but one entry received the top rating of I.
Flute trio (Katie Grubbs, Taylor Heinitz, Sarah Dehn).
Percussion quintet (Kyndall Reed, Jocie Crum, Jennifer Crum, Kayla Calkins, Heather White).
Saxophone quartet (Stephen Webb, Talan Jameson, Cormac Jones and Troy Ploeger).
Woodwind choir (20 members).
Harker also scored a I on her saxophone solo.
Vocal didn't take a large group, but both mixed ensemble scored a top rating.
Also scoring I ratings were the women and men's ensemble got a one.
All soloists received a I.
They were Katie Grubbs, Stephen Webb, Katie Harker, Hannah Saxon, Xavier Urias, MaKennah Hernandez, and Sarah Dehn.
"Performing in band, vocal, and the woodwind choir was definitely challenging as everything was back to back. We all practiced very hard though, and we received really good ratings. I'm proud of us all," said junior Aubrie Wiser who performed in both band and vocal.
